The Francis J. Curry National Tuberculosis Center has released a new
clinical self-study product: Radiographic Manifestations of
Tuberculosis: A Primer for Clinicians. This 124-page book has been
developed as an educational tool to enable clinicians to:
* Describe how chest radiographs are created
* Gather information from the radiograph
* Read and interpret chest radiographs for the presence of disease
using standard terminology
The book is divided into three chapters. Chapter one provides a
basic discussion of what x-rays are, how images are created, and the
skills necessary to read and interpret chest radiographs for the
presence of disease.
In the second chapter examples of tuberculosis in all its multiple
appearances are provided. Finally, in the third chapter presents a
series of cases to illustrate how the radiographic findings
influence the evaluation and management of patients at risk for
tuberculosis.
